How do you know when you are beautiful inside and out?
I know I am beautiful, as long as I don’t look in the mirror. The mirror reflects years of pain, anger, and abuse. The mirror reflects the mother of eight children. The mirror reflects all the flaws my ego insists I work to eradicate.
I am a massage therapist. A wife. A mother. A teacher of God. When I live my life, sharing love with those around me, then I know I am beautiful inside and out.
I see my beauty in the soft whispers of my husband as he holds me. I see my beauty reflected in the eyes of my children. I see my beauty in the beauty of the creation. I know that I am a part of that universal power, and I am beautiful.
I see my beauty in the gratitude of my clients. Some are lonely. Some hurt. Some are afraid. They are all requesting love. In the mechanics of massage, as my hand strokes, rubs, kneads and touches, my love is shared. My beauty shines as a gift to those I serve. Those people see me as beautiful, and when I see them, I know I am beautiful inside and out.

Oh Honey- I look in the mirror and I can't help but recognize what a masterpiece God has made. I'm one of the prettiest Vietnam Veterans I know. I've got that Gallagher hair thing going on. You know I could have gone for that Mr. America title but I had an ugly clavicle break. Yep- it's all lumped up. Ruined everything- my hopes and dreams gone with a bike crash. Well I may be just a little short too. My nose may be a little to big compared to my other appendages. Of course God thinks my eyebrows are prettier being about an inch and a half long. I didn't think so but He must know what he's doing. He's taken the hair off the top of my head where it doesn't belong and he's put some of it in my ears. Oh well, He's working on the perfect look for me!
